Privacy Policy

This policy explains how the SecureVPN Android app handles information. SecureVPN is a VPN client: it lets you add and use VPN profiles and subscription links that you choose. The app does not require a SecureVPN account, and its developer does not operate the VPN servers you connect to.

Information stored on your device

Profiles, subscription URLs, credentials you enter, app preferences, connection status, traffic counters, latency results and diagnostic logs are stored in the app's private storage so the app can work and show your connection state. The app does not send this stored profile list or local logs to a SecureVPN-operated account or analytics backend. Android device backup may include eligible app preferences according to your device's backup settings. You can remove profiles in the app, clear its storage, or uninstall it.

VPN traffic and third-party servers

When you connect, Android routes network traffic according to the selected profile through the VPN server specified by you or by your subscription provider. The VPN server and its operator can receive and process traffic needed to provide the connection and may keep their own logs. SecureVPN does not operate or control those servers. Review the privacy terms of the profile or subscription provider you choose. SecureVPN does not receive the contents of traffic routed through those servers.

Installed-app list for split tunneling

If you use app-based split tunneling, Android provides the installed-app list so you can choose which apps use the VPN. This list is used on your device for that selection and is not uploaded to a SecureVPN-operated service.

IP, location and connectivity checks

To display your original public IP, tunnel exit IP and approximate country, and to test connectivity or latency, the app may contact these services: api.ipify.org, ifconfig.me, icanhazip.com, api.ip.sb, ipinfo.io, ipwho.is, ipapi.co, freeipapi.com, www.google.com and cp.cloudflare.com. These providers receive the network request and can see the public IP address and technical request information presented by the network path. The original-IP check uses your non-VPN network; checks made while connected use the VPN path. Their own privacy policies govern their handling of those requests.

Advertising

When advertising is enabled in a release, SecureVPN may display a small Google AdMob banner after eligible VPN connection sessions. Google Mobile Ads may process device and app information, IP address, ad request and interaction data, diagnostics and identifiers permitted by your device and consent choices to serve, measure, prevent fraud in, and personalize or limit ads. Google's handling is described in the Google Privacy Policy. The development/test build uses Google's demo ad IDs; it does not use SecureVPN's live ad unit.

QR codes, camera and sharing

Camera access is used only when you choose to scan a QR code containing a profile or subscription link. Scanning is performed on the device; SecureVPN does not upload camera images. If you import a subscription link, the app contacts that subscription provider when you refresh it. When you choose to export or share a profile, Android sends the selected content to the app you choose.

Retention and your choices

Saved profiles and settings remain in app storage until you delete them or clear/uninstall the app; connection measurements and logs are retained locally for the app's operation and display. You may choose whether to connect, which profile to use, whether to scan or share a QR code, and whether to use the ad-related features available in the app. You can also adjust Google ad privacy choices in your Android or Google settings where available.

Children, changes and contact

SecureVPN is a general-purpose utility and is not designed for children. We do not knowingly collect children's personal information through a SecureVPN-operated account service. We may update this policy when app features or legal requirements change; the date above will be updated.

This information covers the Android app. The public website is hosted by Cloudflare, which processes network request data to deliver and protect the site. SecureVPN does not add website analytics or advertising scripts to these pages.
